The Vancouver based, University of British Columbia is situated on the west tip of the Point Grey Peninsula, approximately 30 minutes from downtown. Before entering campus you will pass through Pacific Spirit Park filled with walking and biking trails that offer a great look at the local habitat. Once on campus you will be presented with an array of state of the art buildings where teaching and research is conducted in areas of biotechnology, agriculture, commerce and more. The campus is used by over forty thousand students and more than seven thousand faculty members making it quite a busy place on the average afternoon. The campus has made a pledge to become a world model for sustainable practices and has a number of buildings that have been awarded for their green building accomplishments.

From Vancouver International Airport by Subway/Bus
  1. Take the subway ("the Canada Line") from the airport to Broadway/City Hall station
  2. When you get out of the subway, cross the street in front of you and walk 100 m to the left to get the bus
  3. Transfer there to the 99B (fast and direct bus) to UBC and drive to the final stop;

From Vancouver International Airport by Car
  1. Head south on Grant Mcconachie Way
  2. Continue on Arthur Laing Bridge
  3. Take the ramp to Granville St/City Centre
  4. Turn left at W 70th Ave
  5. Slight right at SW Marine Dr
  6. Turn right at W 16th Ave
  7. Turn left at Wesbrook Mall

 

From Vancouver International Airport by Taxi
It should be a flat rate of $34 from the airport to UBC (we do tip, normally 15%). On the way back from UBC to the airport, it might be $40, as there is lots of construction on South Marine Drive. Because of that, please also allow for 30-40 minutes to get to or from the airport. Taking the metro and bus (see above), is probably just as good and much cheaper.

Tsawwassen
  1. Take bus #620 to Ladner Exchange
  2. Transfer to bus #601 Vancouver; take bus #601 Vancouver until Granville St. at Broadway,
  3. Transfer to either bus #17 UBC or #99 UBC

Horseshoe Bay
  1. Take bus #257 Vancouver Express to downtown Vancouver
  2. Transfer to either bus #4 UBC or bus #17 UBC on Howe St.

From B.C. Ferries Terminals by Car

Tsawwassen
  1. Head northeast on HWY-17 toward 52 St
  2. Continue on 62 B St
  3. Merge onto HWY-99 N via the ramp to Richmond/Vancouver
  4. Slight right at Oak St
  5. Turn left at W 70th Ave
  6. Slight right at SW Marine Dr
  7. Turn right at W 16th Ave
  8. Turn left at Westbrook Mall

Horseshoe Bay
  1. Take HWY-1 E/Trans Canada Hwy E
  2. Take exit 13 for Taylor Way/HWY-99 S/HWY-1A E toward Vancouver
  3. Keep right at the fork, follow signs for Taylor Way S/HWY-99 S/Vancouver and merge onto Taylor Way
  4. Turn left at Marine Dr
  5. Take the ramp to Bridge/Vancouver
  6. Merge onto Lions Gate Bridge
  7. Continue on Stanley Park Causeway
  8. Continue on W Georgia St
  9. Turn right at Burrard St.
  10. Slight left at Burrard St.
  11. Turn right at 4th Ave
  12. Continue on Chancellor Blvd
  13. Turn right on Wesbrook Mall
