How to get to Minneapolis and Around
The closest airport is the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP). Northwest Airlines is based from this airport and operates several direct flights from Europe, Canada and Asia. There are a range of services to help travelers get to and from MSP:
- Taxi, limousine services are readily available upon arrival at the airport. For cab service while in Minneapolis, call Yellow Taxi at 612-824-444.
- Van / shuttle services are available to get a shared ride to and from the airport. SuperShuttle is a good option.
- Car rental companies, such as Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz and National operate at MSP.
- The Hiawatha Light Rail Line is the cheapest and one of the quickest ways to get between MSP and downtown Minneapolis. The train runs ~every 10 minutes during peak hours. Fares for adults are $2.25 during rush hours and $1.75 at other times.
- Catch a city bus through MetroTransit
Greyhound and Megabus run frequent buses between Minneapolis and Milwaukee and Chicago.
The Amtrak Station receives daily trains from Chicago and Seattle.
