Post-Doctoral Research Fellowships (Clinical) in Healthcare Biomagnetics

On 25 April 2008 University College London and the Royal Institution of Great Britain established a joint research programme in Healthcare Biomagnetics. The programme, which the institutions are supporting with a £3.7m investment, is led by Professor Quentin Pankhurst, formerly the Deputy Director of the London Centre for Nanotechnology. As part of the new programme, applications are invited for a new position:

UCL-RI Fellowship (Clinical): This post is suitable for a therapy-oriented biologist or medic with a solid background in human physiology, pharmacology and/or epidemiology. Ideally the candidate will be skilled in monitoring and assessing the interaction between inorganic particles and the cells, blood and lymph vessels, organs and tissues of the human body, both through cell line studies and through in vivo animal models. The post will be affiliated with the UCL Department of Medicine, with opportunities for clinical work. Preferably the candidate will have a track record of securing independent research funding, and/or evidence of an aptitude to generate such support. The post is available for up to 36 months, with a starting date as soon as possible after appointment. The starting salary will be in the range £36,429 to £37,442 per annum inclusive of London Allowance.
